Dramatic moment four-hour siege ends as 'armed' teenagers are tackled to the ground after fleeing from a housing commission block
- Two teenagers have been charged following a four-hour siege in Melbourne
- The men, aged 17 and 18, were arrested in Carlton about 7.30pm on Tuesday
- They had fled from a block of housing commission flats before their arrest
This is the dramatic moment two teenagers were arrested after a four-hour siege.
Vision captured in Carlton, in Melbourne's inner-north, showed police chasing the men before tackling them to the ground and placing them in handcuffs.
The males, aged 17 and 18, had fled in opposite directions from a block of housing commission flats on Drummond Street about 7pm on Tuesday.
Police were called after the pair, one allegedly armed with a gun, were seen entering the building four hours earlier.

Officers chased after the two males through the streets of Carlton before making the arrests
A nearby school and child care centre were immediately placed under lockdown and residents were told to avoid the area during the siege.
Heavily armed police swarmed the area but no shots were fired.
Police were heard yelling 'get on the ground' as they closed in on the teenagers.
The 18-year-old was arrested on the corner of Drummond and Princes Streets just before 7pm, while the younger man was arrested on Rathdowne Street shortly after.
Both men were charged and will appear in separate courts on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old was been charged with home invasion, aggravated burglary and assault with a weapon.

Residents were ordered not to go near the block of housing commission flats during the four-hour siege
He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court.
The 17-year-old was also been charged with home invasion and aggravated burglary and the additional offence of using an unregistered hand gun.
He was expected to appear before a children's court.
