MUMBAI: A special court on Monday granted bail to two accused arrested in an organ bribery case after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Maharashtra failed to submit the chargesheet in the case within the stipulated period of 60 days.

Tushar Savarkar (34), a social worker from JJ Hospital, and co-accused Sachin Salve (32), a coordinator with S L Raheja-Fortis Hospital, were in jail since their arrest on October 1. On October 15, the court rejected their first bail pleas.

Savarkar's advocate, Prakash Salsingekar, said that that 61st day after their arrest was completed on Sunday and so a bail plea was filed before the holiday court. He said the prosecution was asked to submit their reply on Monday.
