CHENNAI: Two men posing as cops escaped with two cameras of two school students at Tirusulam here on Tuesday.
Naveen, 16, and his friend were clicking pictures of an Army shooting range in the area when two men on a motorcycle approached them and told them that they were not allowed to click photos of the restricted area.
The men seized the two DSLR cameras --, worth Rs 1 lakh -- from the students and scolded them. They were asked to collect the cameras from Meenambakkam police station.
Later, Naveen informed his father Shivaraman about what had happened. The duo went to the police station.
To their surprise, they were informed that no policeman from the station had taken away the cameras. The police said Navin and his friend had been cheated by imposters.
