GURGAON: A businessman, Naresh Hasija (48), fell to his death from the balcony of his eighth floor flat in Block F of Park View City 2 on Sohna road, early morning on Monday, under suspicious circumstances. It’s not clear whether he committed suicide or tripped and fell accidentally. Hasija’s hometown is Sonipat. Police hasn’t recovered any suicide note. Family members of the deceased claimed he was not facing any financial or emotional problems, and had cordial relations with his family .
According to police, Hasija was staying with his wife and two children in Gurgaon for the past two decades. The commodity trader had an office in Dwarka in Delhi and also owned an ice-cream stall inside Kingdom of Dreams in Sector 29. On Sunday evening, he had taken his family out to watch a movie, and had returned home late. The family went to bed at around 11pm after dinner.
Around 3am, a security guard of the society was alerted by a loud thud.
“The guard on duty rushed to the spot and found Hasija lying in a pool of blood. He immediately called the family, who took Hasija to hospital,” said another security guard, adding Hasija was unconscious when he was found. Doctors declared him brought dead and informed police, who sent the body for autopsy, after which, they handed it over to the family on Monday afternoon.
Additional SHO of Sector 50, Naresh Kumar, said no suicide note was found near the body or inside the house. Initial investigation suggested the deceased didn’t have any personal, health, financial or family worries. “We believe he might have tripped from the balcony. However, we’re investigating the case from all possible angles,” said Kumar.
“He was in very good physical condition. Their family is also very nice, we’ve never heard of family issues. He might have tripped from the balcony,” said a neighbour.
