Janhvi Kapoor, who made her debut with Shashank Khaitan's directorial Takht has started preparations for her next film which is a biopic. Janhvi will be seen in another Karan Johar's production, a film on one of India's first female combat aviators, Gunjan Saxena. Posted in Kargil during the 1999 war, Gunjan evacuated injured soldiers from the war field, flying through Kashmir. She also experienced a brush with death during the war.
A Mumbai Mirror report says, ''Janhvi will start prep in the next few days with basic flying lessons and sessions on how the Indian Air Force works and lives. She spent time with Gunjan a few months ago and will be meeting her again to understand her story better. Gunjan along with her fellow lieutenant Srividya Rajan brought soldiers safely despite facing the attack from the enemy. She is the first woman to be awarded Shaurya Vir.

The movie is expected to go on the floors early 2019. Besides that, Janhvi will also be seen in Takht, which is a period drama directed by Karan Johar. The movie also features Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar.
Janhvi, who lost her mother while shooting for Dhadak shares an adorable camaraderie with half-siblings Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. Recently, in an interview with Filmfare, Janhvi opened up on her equation with both of them .Showering praises on Arjun and Anshula, she said ''we're blessed''. "It comes from seeking a sense of protection. A significant figure in our lives- my mother- wasn’t there anymore. Whom could we rely on? So, Khushi and I found ourselves leaning on them. A strong trust was forged between us. They’re so chilled out, such gracious and strong people, who encourage you and are real with you. We’re blessed,” she said.
