Cong holds protests against paper paper leak

Surat: Members of Congress party held protest against the exam paper leak during the Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD) recruitment exam on Monday at different locations in the city. A group of city Congress members staged dharna at Mahatam Gandhi statue near Chowk. Police detained protesters who were demonstrating with posters and banners.
The Congress members demanded strict actions against those behind the paper leak. Police detained the protesting Congress workers since they held the dharna without permission. Those detained were released later in the afternoon.
Surat district Congress members submitted a memorandum to district collector’s office demanding resignation of chief minister holding him responsible for paper leak and cancellation of exam. They also shouted slogans against the government’s failure in conducting the exam due to which over 8.75 lakh candidates had to suffer.
Student body of Congress National Students Union of India (NSUI) held dharna at Varaiv college and staged protest in the campus.
