One held for running illegal liquor factory in Saha

AMBALA: Saha Police have arrested a man identified as Narender alias Nitu alias Surender Kumar, resident of Israna village, Panipat district for running an illegal liquor factory. A case has been registered at Saha police station. The arrested accused was presented before the court which sent him on four-day police remand.


On October 16, 2018, on the complaint of excise and taxation officer, Dalbir Singh, the Saha police had registered a case against the accused, Davender Singh, resident of Samalkha village, Panipat district, Deepak Kumar, resident of Pavanti village, Panipat district and Ram Dayal, resident of Krishan Nagar, Ambala Cantonment under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act and 420, 467, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The case was registered after the joint team of the excise and the police department had raided an illegal factory outlet in Saha Industrial Area and recovered illicit liquor in large quantity along with the machinery.


The police has seized two trucks, one car, two motorcycles, and 1,130 boxes of country-made raseela santra liquor, 525 boxes of country-made blu-lime liquor, 150 bottles of NV Punjab. A total of 15,285 bottles of illicit liquor, 40,605 empty bottles, 22,200 empty quarter bottles were seized.


Investigation officer of the case said, "We have taken Narender on remand and during the investigation, more questions will be asked from him. At this moment, we are investigating the matter."
