Assembly Elections 2018 LIVE Updates: With elections in Telangana just days away, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi are scheduled to address separate rallies in the state on Monday. PM Modi will land at the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad and head to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium to address a public meeting. He will return to the national capital in the evening, BJP Telangana chief spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao told PTI.
In his earlier visit, when he addressed meetings at Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar last week, Modi had criticised Telangana’s ruling TRS and the Congress for perpetuating “family rule” and pursuing “vote bank” politics that harm development like “termites”.
Meanwhile, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address rallies in Gadwal and Tandur Monday afternoon. The Congress has forged “Prajakutami” (People’s Alliance) with the TDP, the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and the CPI.
Telangana was born of idealism & great dreams. But, 4 yrs. of TRS/BJP incompetence, arrogance & corruption has made the people cynical.
