GURUGRAM: The body of a 35-year-old man was found near DLF Road, a few metres away from the Kherki Daula toll plaza, on Sunday. Police said he was possibly beaten to death.

The investigation is under way to identify the deceased. Police said that the man was killed at a different location and the body was dumped at a construction site near DLF Road.

The body was found on Sunday afternoon by a labourer working at the construction site near DLF Road. Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Kanpur, informed police about the body. A police team, which was dispatched to the spot, took the body into custody. The man was wearing a white and green striped t-shirt and brown pants, said police.

According to police, bones in his left leg were found to be broken and there were multiple injuries on his head and face. Cops said the man was killed around 24 hours before the body was discovered. However, during a search, nothing was found on his person that would help us identify him.

An FIR has been registered against the unknown accused under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (hiding evidence) at the Kherki Daula police station. “We have kept the body in a mortuary for identification but there have been no claims yet. A forensic team also visited the spot and it seems that the murder took place elsewhere and the body was dumped here. We are trying to identify both the deceased and the accused,” said sub-inspector Sakender Kumar, the investigating officer in the case.
