Promises unemployment dole and lowering eligibility age for Aasara pensions

For the first time in the State, unemployed youth will get a dole of ₹ 3,016 per month while the government employees will get to be employed for an additional three years if the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) comes to power.

The ongoing Aasara pensions will be enhanced to ₹ 2,016 and more people will be added with the age limit being reduced from 65 years to 57 years. Pensions for disabled will be doubled. Health profile of all the people will be created.

These were a few attractive promises made by the TRS in its manifesto released by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao here on Sunday. Promising better governance, the manifesto also promises introducing new welfare schemes bringing more people under its gambit. It promises ₹ 5 to ₹6 lakh assistance for construction of houses for poor persons owning a plot while continuing the double bedroom houses.

All communities

The Rythu Bandhu scheme that now offers ₹ 8,000 per acre per year will be enhanced to ₹ 10,000 per acre per year. Like in its last manifesto, this time too the party promises loan waiver to farmers up to ₹ 1 lakh. A special directorate will be created for pensioners.

The manifesto also assures that the report of the committee appointed for drafting schemes for the integrated development of SCs and STs will be implemented even as it continues to fight for implementation of 33% reservation to BCs and 33% reservation to women in legislatures.

Similarly, efforts will continue for hiking reservations to 12% for minorities and Scheduled Tribes.

Appeals for change of categories of different castes will be considered.

In addition to Reddy and Vaisya Corporation, corporations for the welfare of even other financially backward communities will be established and special welfare schemes will be conceived for poor among the forward castes.

The manifesto also promises setting up food processing units and will be linked with self-help groups and the products will be marketed through the public distribution system.

Pattas to tribals

The party promises ownership rights to tribals after amicably addressing land disputes of tribal and non-tribal lands in forest areas and they will be given benefits on par with other farmers.

Efforts would be made to establish steel factory in Bayyaram and pattas will be given to those who have constructed houses in Singareni Plots, the manifesto promised.

The party manifesto also explains the reasons for going for early elections as it accuses the Opposition parties of making unnecessary hue and cry and attempting to create hurdles at every stage.

The party has decided to go before the people to expose them in people’s courts, it claimed.
