Naidu accused of meddling in Telangana from day one

Stepping up the political heat in the ongoing campaigning for Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K.T. Rama Rao has announced that the party would not hesitate to enter politics in Andhra Pradesh to take on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu, if necessary.

Speaking at Hamara Hyderabad programme organised by a socially influential community at Bharathnagar, which forms part of Kukatpally Assembly constituency on Saturday, Mr. Rama Rao went on to say that the TRS would show its might as part of the federal front in AP and teach a befitting political lesson to TDP and Mr. Naidu.

The TRS leader asked the gathering as to what would happen if somebody puts his/her finger into an anthill. “We have no intentions to trouble anybody but Mr. Naidu has been trying to intervene in Telangana affairs and even went on to destabilise the TRS Government by buying our legislators in the MLC elections but was exposed,” he said adding that such acts would have an equal reaction in spite of Mr. Naidu assuming himself a superpower. Mr. Rama Rao stated that the TRS Government had never wished confrontation with neighbouring States and accordingly Telangana was enjoying cordial relations with Karnataka and Maharashtra in spite of having river water disputes with them. Kaleshwaram project had made a remarkable progress already with the cooperation of Maharashtra in getting clearances and people could witness its first result in the next six months. However, it is the AP government headed by Mr. Naidu which has been adopting a confrontational attitude with Telangana from day one on several issues -- including river waters, power, division of assets and others. Further, Mr. Rama Rao alleged that Mr. Naidu had been trying to create a rift between Telangana and Seemandhra people in Hyderabad by dividing them in the name of caste and region but expressed hope that people would pack him off to Amaravati.

Stating that People's Front is giving a large number of newspaper and television advertisements, Mr. Rama Rao said they are aware of the source of funding. Congress distributed seats while TDP is giving notes as Mr. Naidu is banking only on money and media, as usual.

Mr. Rama Rao appealed to people that they had to decide between scams of the Congress and TDP on one side and schemes of TRS on the other.
