Khanna police recover 5.1 kilogram opium from two Jharkhand men

LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Sunday arrested two drug peddlers of Jharkhand after it recovered five kilograms and hundred grams of opium from them. The accused were identified as Suman Kumar and Saurav Kumar, both of Peltol Rajpur, in district Chatra of Jharkhand.


Giving details, SP Investigation Jasvir Singh said that police have started a special campaign against drug trafficking and misdemeanors. He added during the campaign, a police party of Khanna Police was checking the suspected vehicles and persons at the Mobile-Checkpost opposite Pristine Mall on GT Road (Alour).


Police said that during checking, police party saw two persons coming from Gobindgarh Side on foot. It added that after seeing police party, they tried to flee.


Police officer said that on suspicion, police party stopped them for checking and during questioning, they identified themselves. It added that SP Investigation Jasvir Singh was also present on the spot, during the checking of the duo.


Police said that on checking their bag, police party recovered 5 Kilogram and 100 gram of opium. It added that the accused were booked under sections of NDPS act at Khanna city's two police station and they were arrested.
