UT police dispose of 154 complaints

CHANDIGARH: As many as 246 people visited various police stations in Chandigarh under the Know Your Case and public grievance redressal camps organized from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
SDPO's and concerned DSP's supervised the camp. A total of 154 complaints were disposed of during the camp. SDPOs of each sub-division reviewed the process. The issues discussed and directions given during the camp have been forwarded to the concerned police officials/beat staff for compliance.
The Chandigarh police organizes Know Your Case and public grievance redressal camps on the first Saturday of every month. The objective of these schemes is to provide easy access and speedy redressal of grievances.
The Know Your Case scheme was launched by Chandigarh police in 2013 to bring transparency and accountability in police functioning. Under the scheme, citizens visits their concerned police stations and traffic units to check the status of their cases, complaints and traffic challans.
To serve a similar purpose, the UT police had also launched the public grievances redress campaign in July 2017 with an aim to redress and dispose of maximum complaints or grievances of general public more effectively and in a timely manner.
