Paul is now part of the fourth generation in America that is involved in farming and hopes the next generation will be involved also. Through his blog he provides analysis and insight to farmer tax questions.
Now that it's December, many farmers have a chance to focus on learning and networking at conferences across the country. This week, CLA will be exhibiting at three:
If you are attending any of these events, stop by the CLA booth to say hello."
The following week is the last scheduled farm tax CPE webinars for 2018. On Monday, November 10, I will be doing a two hour webinar for the Minnesota Society of CPAs. It will primarily focus on Section 199A and will have six practical case studies showing how this deduction will work for most farm situations.
On Wednesday, November 12, the Oregon Society of CPAs is offering an 8 hour class on the new farm tax law (the same 8 hour class we have done across the country over the last several months). What is unique about this offering is that Chris Hesse will be joining me and we will tag team the presentation. Chris and I have done this a couple of other times and it has been very well received. This will be your last chance to get 8 hours of CPE and it is in a webinar format. Chris and I will be doing it from our Minneapolis office.

Once those are done, my plan is to head to Denver and finally see our new granddaughter. My wife is headed there this Friday to start spoiling the child. Once I am done there, my plan is to stay home for the next month. At that point, I think my tally of days in a rental car will approach 132 days for 2018. That blows away my old record of 106 back in 2016 (perhaps not a record to be proud of).
