Two topless brothers have been filmed brawling in broad daylight on the side of a busy street.

Two screaming and swearing men - who police say are relatives - can be seen grappling in front of a residential estate before an officer breaks up the wild brawl.

The video begins with a topless man running away from another, who is heard screaming obscenities.

His pursuer catches up to him and places him in a choke-hold until they tumble to the pavement.

The pair grapple on the sidewalk and roll into the gutter of the bustling street.

An ambulance can be seen passing by at one point.

The fight was only broken up when a police car pulled up at the scene.

An officer rushes to the two men with an arm raised, before pepper spraying the man on top.

The brawlers immediately stopped wrestling as a shocked female onlooker in a blue tank top stands only metres away.

The man who was pepper sprayed was suffering from a mental health episode, a South Australia Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

After the fight was broken up, the man was treated.

The pair of men are related and are believed to be brothers.

Police investigations are continuing with it currently unclear whether charges will be laid.
