About Kartarpur Corridor, he said “We have to take the Kartarpur Corridor in a very positive note and shouldn’t take everything of Pakistan on a negative note” he said.
He said he was surprised to see numerous barricades laid in Lahore. “When I asked them that you (Pakistan) yourself are indulged in these things then why did you need so barricades, they replied that India does everything here”. He said he visited the Lahore High Court and met the chief justice and was surprised to see the barricades around the Lahore High Court. “We don’t have such barricades laid around our high court,” he said.
Stating that the blame game should come to an end, he said the issues, the differences would end only through table talks.
He said a large chunk of Indian budge was spent on anti-terrorist activities whereas there was a need to spend on good education system, medical facilities etc.
Talking about Indo Pak trade, he said he had sent emails to Pak government ministers asking to open border for trade. “I didn’t get an opportunity to talk to Pak prime minister Imran Khan one to one, “ he said.
He, however, said that not only Imran Khan but the people of Pakistan had heaped praise upon Navjot Singh Sidhu. “Even the pilgrims in the Gurdwara’s had respect and appreciation for him, “ he said.
However, he said it was wrong of Sidhu for stating that Captain Amarinder Singh was no Captain but the Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi is captain of the whole of the Congress and captain’s captain also but Amarinder is the captain of Punjab,” he said.
He opined that Sidhu should have taken up these issues at party level only and not in media. On the statement of cabinet minister Tript Bajwa that Navjot should quit, Aujla replied that party seniors should solve the issue.
