AHMEDABAD: Residents of Satellite Park Flats in the Satellite area of the city approached police on Friday through their society’s representatives after some persons tried to take possession of their plot, which has a children’s park and a borewell. According to the complaint filed by the society’s secretary, Virendra Oza, with the Satellite police the society has 179 houses and it has a plot measuring 3,840 square metres adjacent to the flats. On Friday, a person named Girish Natwarlal Patel, who has a plot adjacent to the Satellite Park’s plot, came to Oza’s society with a bulldozer and razed a wall of the plot.
Patel, his associate Mafa Desai, and the bulldozer driver carried sticks. They apparently yelled that they were the accomplices of some H K Patel and would take possession of the Satellite Park’s plot. The three men also abused the residents of Satellite Park and threatened them with dire consequences if they tried to stop them. The Satellite Park residents called police.
Oza said that they had earlier contacted police after Patel threatened them and a case is pending in a local court. He stated that if any untoward incident happened to residents of the Satellite Park or if their property is damaged, then Patel should be held solely responsible. Satellite police have lodged a case of trespassing, causing damage, abetment, criminal intimidation and uttering obscene words.
