Alleges bid to ‘frame’ K. Surendran

The Bharatiya Janata Party will stage protests at events to be attended by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other Ministers and waylay them in progest against the alleged attempt to frame party State general secretary K. Surendran in criminal cases.

M.T. Ramesh, BJP State general secretary, told the media here on Saturday that Mr. Surendran was denied basic facilities while being transported by the police for producing him in various courts.

He refuted the allegation that a 52-year-old woman from Thrissur was attacked at Sabarimala. “The woman has not complained. The allegation that she was attacked with a ghee-filled coconut is baseless. Let the police arrest the culprits,” Mr. Ramesh said. He said the party would intensify the Sabarimala agitation and activists would defy the prohibitory orders at Nilackal. A.N. Radhakrishnan, State general secretary, would launch an indefinite fast outside the Secretariat from Monday.

Case against SP

Mr. Ramesh said the BJP had filed a case against Superintendent of Police G.H. Yathish Chandra for misbehaving with Mr. Surendran and Hindu Aikya Vedi leader K.P. Sasikala and arresting and implicating them in fabricated cases.
