PATNA: Degree Part III (honours) examinations of subjects like physics, history, economics, rural economics, labour and social welfare were cancelled in the first sitting after a group of A N College examinees created ruckus at B D College centre on Saturday. The situation was, however, brought under control when a Gardanibagh police team reached the spot.
According to sources, the Part III exams, which were scheduled to begin from October 1, were postponed to December 1 by the Magadh University (MU) authorities. Some exam centres were also changed.
“The problem started when A N College examinees turned up at B D College centre to write the examinations in the first sitting. They were furious when told that College of Commerce, Arts and Science had been allotted as their centre, as per the revised programme. However, when they reached College of Commerce, Arts and Science with their old admit cards, the guards shooed them away. The students rushed back to B D College and damaged furniture, flower pots and window glasses,” B D College principal Sanjay Kumar told this newspaper.
As per the revised centre programme issued earlier this week, T P S College, R S L Y College, Guru Gobind Singh College and Feroz Gandhi College students were allotted B D College as their exam centre.
Meanwhile, B D College allowed at least 1,000 A N College examinees to write their papers in the second sitting when the MU examination controller realized the mistake.
