MUMBAI: A 56-year-old woman jumped to death "out of depression" from the 23rd floor of a highrise in Seven Bungalows, Andheri, between 2 and 2.30pm on Saturday. The police said she often mentioned to acquaintances that "everyone was involved in a conspiracy against her". She had never been to a mental health professional. The police are probing if she also had financial trouble.
The deceased, who was unmarried, lived alone. Her sister and mother live in the US.
On Saturday, the woman went to a highrise on Veera Desai Road where her friend resides. She took the elevator to the 23rd floor, opened a glass window and stepped out onto the ledge and leapt off. A case of accidental death has been recorded by the police.
