NEW DELHI: Martin Garrix, the 22-year-old Dutch DJ and record producer who has been announced world’s number one DJ three years in a row, will perform at Unitech Golf & Country Club in Noida on Sunday as part of his Power Arena — Martin Garrix India Tour presented by Radio Mirchi.
Famed for his break-out hit ‘Animals’, released in 2013, Garrix’s appeal and stratospheric rise cuts across age groups and has generated a huge fan following. He has headlined festivals around the globe, founded a label and mentored various artists.
It was in 2004 that Garrix first got acquainted with electronic dance music, seeing Dutch DJ Tiësto perform at the Olympic Games opening ceremony on live TV. The music’s energy and drive captivated him and by his mid-teens, Garrix had taught himself how to produce and play his own songs. In November this year, Garrix released a new single ‘Dreamer’ featuring American soul singer and erstwhile busker in New York City Subway stations, Mike Yung, which received rave reviews.
Sunday’s performance is bound to be a memorable one for Garrix fans in India. Not only does it boast powerhouse opening acts by the likes of Dutch DJs Dyro and Justin Mylo and Polish DJ Blinders but also first-of-its-kind SFX, more than 500 sq m of LED lights, 400 lighting fixtures and 25 units of lasers. A non-stop festival comprising performances, refreshments, dancing and entertainment, the concert is in association with Boss India.
(Limited tickets for the event are available on Insider.in and Paytm. Tickets will also be sold at the venue)
