Cashier booked for siphoning off Rs 3 lakh
TNN | Dec 2, 2018, 04:05 ISTVadodara: A cashier of a car service centre was booked for siphoning off Rs 3.2 lakh in June 2017 at Gorwa police station.
An FIR was registered on Friday against the accused Dhaval Vaghela after he left the job without informing and paying back the siphoned money.
According to police, Vaghela, a resident of Gotri, was entrusted with the job of collecting money from customers who get their cars serviced at Amar Cars Private Limited in Gorwa. He had taken up the job at service centre in October 2016. After collecting the money, he was supposed to deposit the money with the head cashier on next morning.
In June 2017, Vaghela collected money from the customers, but did not deposit four days’ collection with the head cashier. When he was confronted by the accountant, he promised that he will pay the money. After a fortnight, when he was again asked to deposit money he said that he will deposit it soon and if need be he will get it deducted from his salary.
Meanwhile, he deposited some cash and some amount was deducted from his salary. But even after that he had to deposit Rs 3.2 lakh. Recently, he resigned from the job without depositing the money. The accountant of the service centre then approached cops and a case was registered.
