Brewery busted; two bootleggersarrested from Amreli district
tnn | Dec 2, 2018, 04:00 ISTRajkot: A brewery making country-made liquor was busted and liquor barrels and raw materials used for making it were seized in Chavand village of Lathi taluka in Amreli district on Friday. Two bootleggers were arrested in this connection.
Amreli local crime branch officials made the seizure and arrests. The cops seized 20 cans of country-made liquor, 550 litre raw material and 240kg jaggery and arrested Ranjit Der (40) and Irfan Shah (24), both residents of Chavand.
“We got a tip-off that Der was running a country-made liquor brewery and that he had hired labourers for this purpose. While the labourers fled, we caught Der and Shah from the spot,” said D K Vaghela, inspector of Amreli LCB. tnn
