Stage set for national supercross

Vadodara: Stage is set for the final round of the National Supercross Championship 2018 that will take place at the Akota stadium on Sunday. The practice rounds on Saturday also generated a lot of interest and enthusiasts turned up in large number to see the experts in action.

The MRF MoGrip FMSCI National Supercross Championship 2018 is making a comeback after seven years to the city. Around 800 riders will participate in the Vadodara leg of the championship.


The tournament will have eight categories including those for local racers, novices and even juniors. A highlight of the event will be freestyle motocross stunts performed by the Australian team of Jordan Sprague and Shaun Webb.


The participants in the championship include the only girl in the fray Tanika Shanbhag (16) from Satara and a seven-year-old participant Viraj Rathod from Indore. With Vadodara being the last leg, the overall winners of the championship will be decided in the city.
