The Tarraco Is A Restyled Skoda Kodiaq With Seat Badges – And That’s A Good Thing

Crossovers and SUVs are currently all the rage in practically all main global markets, so it’s only natural for automakers to focus on enlarging their range with new ones.

One of the newcomers is the Seat Tarraco. It slots in the Spanish car firm’s lineup over the Ateca, and uses the same underpinnings as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. Also, it can be had with up to seven seats, and a 6-foot (183 cm) adult can fit in any of those.

The interior of the Tarraco looks pretty much like that of the Skoda Kodiaq. And as AutoTrader points out in their test drive, that’s actually a good thing. The Czech SUV is nicely put together, well equipped and benefits from materials that are either solid and sturdy, or soft for a premium-like approach.

On the road, Seat’s flagship SUV is indistinguishable from the Kodiaq. Moreover, all vehicles brought by Seat to Barcelona for the official media drive were equipped with the optional air suspension, which makes the ride firmer or softer depending on the selected driving mode.

So, the comfortable ride is there, the 7-seat layout is also there, and the nicely equipped cabin with easy-to-use features is present as well. But is the Seat Tarraco the mid-sized SUV from the VW Group to go for? Or would the Skoda Kodiaq be a better choice?

And then, of course, there’s also the Tiguan, which has been around for long enough to have established a name for itself in this segment. The answer is a mouse-click away, in the following video review.
