IPS booked for torturing ex-pradhan

Representative imageLUCKNOW: An FIR was lodged against IPS officer Kuntal Kishore and four policemen of Amethi on Friday for allegedly framing and torturing a former pradhan in a case. The FIR was lodged at Musafirkhana police station on court order. The case pertains to the time when Kuntal was SP Amethi. At present, he is posted as SP (law and order) at DGP headquarters.
According to the complaint, Kuntal had allegedly tried to book a former pradhan on charges of animal smuggling and mining. The pradhan was reportedly tortured by police. Ramendra Dubey, a kin of the victim, had moved court after which the case was lodged. SHO Musafirkhana Vishwanath Yadav confirmed that ex-SHO of Musafirkhana has also been named in the case.
