BSY seeking sorcerer’s help to topple govt in K’taka: Congress
TNN | Dec 1, 2018, 06:37 ISTBENGALURU/SHIVAMOGGA: Rumours suggesting BY Yeddyurappa is on a visit to Kerala to “seek divine intervention” to bring down the coalition government in Karnataka was rubbished by his son and BJP MP from Shivamogga, BY Raghavendra, on Friday.
Raghavendra insisted that his father, the state BJP president, was taking a break ahead of the assembly session in Belagavi which is scheduled to begin on December 10.
Yeddyurappa’s office said he left for Idukki on Friday for naturopathy treatment after he “felt discomfort” in his shoulders. “He left on Friday for four days to Prakriti Chikitsa Kendra in Kerala and is scheduled to return to Bengaluru on December 4,” the office said.
Congress leaders, however, alleged that Yeddyurappa had left for Kerala to seek the advice of a sorcerer to bring down the coalition government. In Shikaripura, former MLA Belur Gopalkrishna, a friend turned foe, alleged Yeddyurappa had gone to Kerala with his confidante and Udupi-Chikkamagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje to seek a sorcerer’s advice on dislodging the government.
Gopalkrishna claimed BSY was worried over Raghavendra’s victory margin in the recent bypoll in Shivamogga Lok Sabha segment, which is why wanted to consult a sorcerer. Raghavendra maintained his father had gone for treatment and will head to Belagavi for the winter session after he returns.
