Gurugram police arrested a 30-year-old man accused of raping his 3-year-old daughter, police said. The accused is a mini truck driver. ACP Shamsher Singh said that the accused was drunk when he got into a heated argument with his wife, after which she went to a relative’s house on the night of the incident.

Victim’s mother left the house and went to a relative’s place with her 1-year-old daughter. Her elder daughter (3-year-old) was sleeping in the room. Finding his daughter alone, the accused sexually assaulted her, Singh said.

The incident came to light after the victim’s mother returned home. She saw her daughter lying on the bed in unconscious stage with blood stains all over. Her father ran away after committing the crime.

The victim’s mother immediately called the police. She also took the victim to Gurugram civil hospital for treatment. The doctors of the hospitals confirmed sexual assault after a medical checkup.

The victim’s condition is said to be critical. The accused has been arrested. He has been booked under POSCO act. He is a native of Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, the ACP said.
