A blast on a train injured three passengers near the Harisinga railway station in Assam’s Udalguri district late on December 1. Railway and police officials could not confirm if it was caused by an electrical short circuit or an explosive device.
A Northeast Frontier Railway spokesperson said the blast took place in the fourth coach from the locomotive after the train from Rangiya to Dekargaon left Harisinga at 7.04 p.m. “The three passengers suffered minor injuries,” he said.
“There is no evidence yet that a bomb caused the blast,” a district police officer said.
