JAIPUR: Urging Congress president Rahul Gandhi to have mercy on the country and quit politics, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath on Saturday said “Congress is a destructive political party, which on the basis of Muslim appeasement, is playing with the security of the nation”.
During an election rally at Jamdoli circle in Adarsh Nagar, Adityanath launching a scathing attack on the Congress said, “It has only given terrorism, corruption, Naxalism and lawlessness,” to the country.
Yogi was welcomed amid chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” at the Jamdoli circle ground with thousands of BJP supporters cheering for him.
“Congress and corruption are synonymous with each other. These things have only destroyed the country for years. But, through our development projects, we are only establishing Ram Rajya,” he said.
“During Congress’ rule, the terrorists were fed with Biriyani on the border, while we feed them with bullets (Congress antankbadiyon ko biriyani khilati thi, khatirdari karti thi; hum unko goli khilate hain),” he added.
The UP chief minister said the basic difference between Congress and BJP is – on one side BJP is committed to development and security of the nation, and on the other “Congress is a destructive political party, which on the basis of Muslim appeasement, is playing with the security of the nation (dusri taraf Congress hai jo desh ki suraksha ke saath khilwar karne wali aur desh ke andar Muslim tustikaran ke aadhar par desh ke suraksha ke saath khilwar karne wali rajnetik vinashkari dal).
Taking a dig at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Adityanath said one would never hear from any BJP leader that any individual, caste, religion are entitled to the resources of the country.
“Every citizen has right over all resources of the country. But former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said as PM had said that the Muslims must have the first claim on resources. If that is so, then where will poor, underprivileged, women, youth, SC and ST? Congress is doing injustice to the people. They are taking the country towards division,” he said.
He also attacked Congress leader Kapil Sibal for making a plea in the Supreme Court that the hearing on the Ram Mandir issue should not be held before the Lok Sabha elections. “Congress is only betraying the country and they should not be forgiven and always be defeated always,” he said
He said the people of the country should now urge Rahul Gandhi to have mercy on them and the country. “Under his leadership, the Congress has lost 17 elections. If he fulfils Gandhiji’s dream of disbanding the Congress party, he would be blessed.”
Attacking the Congress party, the BJP leader further said development is not their agenda.
