1 held with heroin, banned vials

He was produced in a local court and remanded in judicial custody. Police said the accused has been identified as Sawarian, a resident of Daddu Majra Colony, Sector 38.
Sarangpur police spotted the accused at a naka near IRB complex on Thursday night. When the accused saw the police checkpost, he tried to run away but police chased and caught him. Police also claimed to have recovered five banned injectable vials and 12 grams of heroin from his possession. The accused failed to produce any permit and bills for the drugs.
Police arrested him under the NDPS Act. During interrogation, police said the accused told them he had procured the drugs from a local drug seller. Police is now on the trail of the drug dealer.
On November 27, Sarangpur police arrested Manpreet Singh, a resident of Patiala with 400 grams of Opium from the Government School in Saranpur. Since then, the accused has been lodged in Burail jail.
