Mangaluru: Five-day annual 'Laksha Deepotsava' to begin from December 2
Kevin Mendonsa | TNN | Updated: Dec 1, 2018, 21:18 ISTMANGALURU: The annual 'Laksha Deepotsava' at Shree Kshetra Dhramastala will be held for five days starting from December 2.
Lakhs of devotees from length and breadth of the country are expected to participate in the annual affair at Shree Kshetra. During the five-day long festivities, a lot of programmes related to arts, music and other cultural activities will be held under the leadership of D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
86th 'Sarva Dharma Sammelana' will be held on December 5. It will be inaugurated by Jagadguru Sooryacharya Shri Krishnadevanandagiri Maharaj of Dwaraka Sooryapeeta and M Mumtaz Ali, education expert and social reformed from Bengaluru will preside. D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala will give a keynote address.
On December 6, Sahitya Sammelana will be inaugurated by Vijay Sankeshwara, businessman and literary critic TP Ashok will preside over the function.
Apart from this, there will be various cultural programmes are held starting from December 2 at exhibition manpat.
Everyday Shree Manjunath Utsav will be held after 9pm. Other events include Hosakatte Utsav (Dec 2), Kerkatte Utsav (Dec 3), Lalitodyana Utsav (Dec 4), Kanchimaru Katte Ustav (Dec 5), Gaurimaru Katte Utsav (Dec 6) and Shree Chandranatha Swamy Samavasarana Pooja on December 7.
