Though the overall polling percentage of male voters was more than female voters in the assembly elections, as many as 19 constituencies in the state witnessed more otherwise equation. In 19 constituencies in the state, the percentage of female voters exercising their franchise were more than the percentage of male voters, according to data of election commission’s website.
According to the website, four constituency of Gwalior-Chambal region, one of Bundelkhand, eight of Vindhya, two each of Mahakoshal, Madhya and Malwa-Nimar witnessed more percentage of women casting ballot in comparison to their male counterparts. Kotama seat in Annppur district, Bhander seat and Seondha seat in Datia and Morena city in Gwalior Chambal region saw more percentage of women voters than their male counterparts.
The same situation was in Chandla seat in Bundelkhand region and Pandhurna and Sausar in Chhindwara district of Mahakoshal region. Basoda and Shamshabad constituencies in Vidisha district in Madhya and Khategaon in Dewas and Shajapur constituency of Malwa-Nimar region also witnessed more percentage of women voters than that of male.
Vindhya region surprised everybody. In this region, eight constituencies saw more percentage of women voters than male.
The constituencies included Toenthar, Sirmour, Semariya and Gurh in Rewa district, Sidhi city and Sihawal in Sidhi district, Singrauli city and Deosar in Singrauli district.
