
G20 Summit: PM Modi Meets Trump, Reaffirms Ties With Xi Jinping
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 Summit on Friday, 30 November. During the meeting, Modi said that this year has been very important for relations between India and China, and expressed confidence that the coming year would be even better.
Earlier, Modi attended the BRICS informal meeting in Argentina’s Buenos Aires, wherein he spoke about the need for action against terrorism and financial crimes, and reaffirmed India’s commitment to globalisation and reformed multilateralism.
Modi arrived in the Argentinian capital on Thursday to attend the 13th G20 summmit. He is expected to hold a trilateral meeting with Donald Trump and Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the two-day summit.

India Dubs Trilateral Summit 'JAI'
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted that the “first-ever” trilateral summit between the US, Japan adnd America ‘JAI’ – which in Hindi means victory or success.

Modi said, “Both (US and Japan) countries are our strategic partners and both leaders are my good friends. Japan, USA, India acronym is JAI, so 'Jai' in Hindi means success. This sends a good message. “

PM Modi Meets Chinese Prez Xi Jinping, Discusses Ways to Strenghten Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires and discussed how to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two neighbours.
The two leaders have met twice after their informal summit in the Chinese city of Wuhan in April – once at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in June in China's Qingdao and the second time at the BRICS summit in South Africa's Johannesburg in July.
Modi told Xi that he was looking forward to host him for an informal summit next year, reported PTI.
"Today's meeting will be important in proving a direction in terms of strengthening our relations," Modi said.

"Such initiatives are helpful in maintaining the momentum," the prime minister said, adding that there "have been two review meetings – in Qingdao and in Johannesburg."
"I express my heartiest thanks to you (President Xi) for taking out time for this meeting," he said.
After the meeting, the PMO tweeted that the two leaders held productive discussions.
