Delhi cops may apply for custody of paedophile

GURUGRAM: The police have taken the alleged paedophile and serial killer Sunil, who is being investigated for raping and murdering several young girls, under remand for one more day on Friday at Sadar police station.
The police claimed that some investigative formalities were pending and that the same would be completed by Saturday, following which they will seek judicial custody.
Delhi Police is likely apply for production remand for investigating crimes allegedly committed by Sunil in the capital.
In November 2016, a four-year-old girl had gone missing from Sai Dham temple, where she had gone to get prasad. Her body was found from a garbage dump behind Omaxe Mall on Sohna Road. On November 12 this year, after police arrested Sunil for the rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in Gurugram.
He was taken to the garbage dump near the mall and admitted to have raped and murdered the child. It was discovered that the accused had several other victims.
“We are done with the interrogation and investigation, and have enough evidence to file a quick charge sheet. We are just left with some investigative formalities which will be completed by Saturday. The we will start preparing the charge sheet,” said Shamsher Singh Dahiya, ACP (crime).
