Chennai:
DMK called for an all-party meeting in Anna Arivalayam, on Thursday, and leaders of all the major opposition parties reached Anna Arivalayam, the headquarters of DMK, in their own vehicles.
Some leaders even used vehicles arranged for them by the party.
But, to everyone’s surprise, an autorickshaw whistled past the supporters of various parties and when everyone was wondering why an auto rickshaw had to enter Anna Arivalayam at the time when an important political meeting is about to start, they were almost shocked, to see Mutharasan stepping out of the vehicle.
Mutharasan, on the other hand, did not show any fuss as he paid the auto driver his fare and then calmly walked past the awestruck crowd, into Anna Arivalayam to attend the meeting.
People were heard mumbling that only a few leaders in contemporary politics could be seen carrying out their responsibilities with utmost simplicity and leaders of Communist parties always set an example. People were seen comparing Mutharasan’s autorickshaw travel with that of actor Arjun’s arrival to the Secretariat as a one-day CM in the movie Mudhalvan.
