Dabang Delhi vs Jaipur Pink Panthers, Pro Kabaddi 2018, Highlights: As It Happened

That's the end of the game and Delhi have easily emerged winners with a scoreline of 48-35. The win never really was in doubt, even though Jaipur played much better in the second half. 

Both teams get a bonus point each but that matters little to Delhi, who will happily engage in a back and forth thanks to the lead they have. Less than 3 minutes remain now. 

The timeout helps Delhi who manage to grab a couple of precious points on a do or die raid. That pretty much undoes whatever work the away side had done throughout the half. Five minutes on the clock. 

Could there be a final twist in the tale just yet? Jaipur are now just 13 points behind at 24-37. With seven minutes still left, they still have a chance if they can prevent the home team from scoring. 

Delhi seem content to run down the clock despite the fact that half of the half still remains - a clear indication of the comfort being afforded to them by the scoreline. But Jaipur have added two points now. The home side can't get comfortable just yet. 

Five minutes into the second half and Delhi are 35-13 ahead. At this rate the Pink Panthers are never getting back into the game. Excellent showing from the home side thus far. 

The second half is underway and the away side have quite the mountain to climb. Will they be able to scale the massive heights that will be required of them to somehow eke a result out today? We shall see. 

This is turning out to be a nightmare for the Jaipur. They have given up already in this match and the experienced campaigner Anup Kumar will have to come up with the goods. At half-time Delhi lead 29-10. 

Dabang Delhi have completely dominated the proceeding till now and are not giving an inch to Jaipur. Meraj, especially has been brilliant. It's another knockout. Delhi lead 24-8. 

That's a super tackle for the Jaipur side. But Delhi have gone for the review. This could be trouble for Jaipur as the defenders were seen pulling Meraj's shirt. That's five points for Delhi. It's 15-7 for Delhi. 

A do-or-die raid for Delhi and they make the most of it. Home crowd is certainly doing wonders for Delhi. They continue to maintain a slender lead. It's 9-6. 

Delhi gets two, and Jaipur gets one. That is how the match has panned out till now. Looking at the raiding prowess of both teams, the defenders will play a key role in this match. Currently Delhi lead 6-4. 

Deepak Hooda and Ajinkya Pawar get a couple of raids for Jaipur. And that makes the score 3-2. But Delhi have started well here. They would need to consolidate on a solid start. 

A brilliant start by Delhi as they get a lead 3-0 to start with. Meraj Sheykh has started wonderfully. Early trouble for Jaipur here. 

And the match gets underway. Can Delhi start their home leg with a win needs to be seen. Interestingly, none of the teams have done well at home. Can it change for Delhi needs to be seen. 

Veteran Mohit Chhillar has been a rock at the Right Corner position for Jaipur Pink Panthers in Season 6 and has an excellent record in assists as well as tackle points with 22 and 29 to his name respectively. Chhillar was limited to a single point in his previous outing against Dabang Delhi K.C. and, if Jaipur Pink Panthers are to win this contest, Chhillar’s performance will be extremely important for his side.

Rookie Naveen Kumar has been stellar in his maiden VIVO Pro Kabaddi campaign and has already amassed over a 100 raid points in 13 matches. Kumar scored a Super 10 in his last appearance against Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi K.C. will be hopeful of a similar performance from their young star to close the gap on third-placed Puneri Paltan.

Coming off a High 5 in his last outing against Haryana Steelers, Right Corner Ravinder Pahal will have to be at his very best yet again when he comes up against Hooda. Pahal has enjoyed a good campaign with Dabang Delhi K.C., leading them in tackle points with 37 and ranking second in assists with 14. The duel between these two veterans will be one of the key battles of this contest.

Deepak Niwas Hooda has been at his staggering best in his past few outings for Jaipur Pink Panthers. After scoring just 42 raid points in his first seven appearances this season, Hooda has scored 53 raid points in his past five outings at an average of 10.60. Hooda has hit form just in time for Jaipur Pink Panthers as they aim to push for a Super Playoff spot in their final league stage fixtures.
