President Trump will confront a rivalry that has pitted Turkey and Saudi Arabia against each other when the leaders of the three countries convene in Argentina, gathering for the first time since the killing of a Saudi journalist.

The October murder of Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul has deepened the rift between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, two longtime U.S. allies who have become rivals in projecting influence across the Middle East.
