One booked for molestation, outraging woman's modesty

Picture used for representational purpose onlyPATIALA: The local police have booked a 45-year-old man on charges of molestation and outraging the modesty of a 21-year-old woman. The accused has also been booked for stalking the woman for the last few weeks.
A case has been registered at the urban estate police station in Patiala.
The woman also leveled allegations against the accused for sending her objectionable messages. She told the police that the accused continued to harass her despite resistance.
The police said the accused was asked to join investigation after the complaint, but he failed to appear. They said it was learnt that the accused was a self-acclaimed writer and had a brief interaction with the woman a few months back.
"The complainant is a student of a law college in the city. We have registered a case after conducting preliminary inquiry. The accused is on the run and we are conducting raids to nab him," said investigation officer Kuldip Singh, posted at urban estate police station.
