Two thieves held; 55 theft cases cracked
TNN | Nov 30, 2018, 04:00 ISTRajkot: Two thieves were arrested from the Jewellers Circle in Bhavnagar and 55 theft cases detected on Thursday.
Police recovered Rs 7 lakh in cash, one LED, three laptops, three cellphones and two bikes, two silver coins from Sahjad Pathan (28), a resident of Moti Talav locality in Bhavnagar, Shivlal Vadgama alias Budho (26), a resident of Bharatnagar locality in Bhavnagar.
During interrogation, the arrested duo named their accomplices as Ramzan Qureshi and Riaz alias Pappi, both residents of Botad, Riaz Rasul Sipahi and Farzan alias Bhailu from Bhavnagar, Ehsan Diwan and Ilyas Valiya from Ranpur village of Botad taluka.
“The accused confessed to having committed 20 thefts in Rajkot, 17 thefts in Bhavnagar, 15 thefts in Botad and three thefts in Gariadhar. They said that they used to sell off the stolen booty to one Gafar Choksi in Kadi of Mehsana district,” said N G Jadeja, sub-inspector of Bhavnagar local crime branch.
