Assembly Elections LIVE: Rajasthan Cong Promises to Waive Farm Loans, Provide Free Education to Women

Rahul Gandhi has profusely pushed for in waivers of loans for farmers this time. The Congress manifesto for Rajasthan poll released earlier today, has also declared loan waivers for farmers, along with farmer pensions and the promise to remove farming equipment from GST. “If PM can forgive loans of richest people of the country then he should do so for farmers and treat everyone equally,” Rahul Gandhi said. He has promised that if voted to power, farmer loans will be waived off with immediate effect.

Sachin Pilot said the Congress intends to give Rs 3,500 monthly allowance to unemployed youths in the state. The party has promised to form an implementation committee for time-bound implementation of the manifesto. The assembly election in Rajsthan is scheduled for December 7

Rajasthan Congress promises to bring Journalist Protection Act in party manifesto. Congress president Rahul Gandhi has already promised a loan waiver to the farmers within 10 days of coming to power in the state.

Apart from the promises to waive farmers' loan in Rajasthan manifesto, the Congress party has also promised farmer pensions for old farmers in the state and has stated that a separate board will be set up for administering 'gau char' land. 

Congress Releases its Manifesto for Rajasthan | The Congress manifesto for the Rajasthan polls was unveiled by PCC president Sachin Pilot, former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, chairman of the manifesto committee Harish Chaudhary and other senior leaders. Party chief Pilot said that the document has been carefully crafted after taking into account around 2 lakh suggestions from people through various mediums and platforms. Some of the salient features of the manifesto are the loan waivers for farmers, and free education for women and girl child. The party has also promised that it will work towards removing farmer equipment from the ambit of GST goods. 

The Congress is expected to release its manifesto for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections of December 7, anytime now. 

In the education sector, a private school board or an empowered committee will help the government decide policies and a Vedic studies board will be set up.The party also promised a scheme for providing meritorious students taking admission in government schools with laptops or smartphones.Every government college will get an e-library, the party said.

The BJP manifesto for the Rajasthan Assembly elections also carried promises for the tribals and Dalits. A Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar pilgrimage fund will be established, Ambedkar Peeth in Jaipur declared a national-level tourist site, Dr Ambedkar chairs set up at government universities and e-libraries introduced in Ambedkar community halls.The BJP announced that the state government will spend about Rs 5,000 crore in the next five years for the development of tribal sub-plan areas.The next BJP government will recommend to the Centre to include 'Meena', along with 'Mina', in the list of Scheduled Tribes (ST) and will construct memorials to tribal leaders in Dungarpur, Kota, Bundi, Banswara and Jaipur.

Needless to say, creation of jobs is a big part of the manifesto and in this regard, Raje promised the enactment of an employment guarantee scheme on the lines of the Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for urban areas. Apart from creating 30,000 government jobs every year, the manifesto assured 50 lakh job opportunities over five years in the private sector, including through self-employment. Educated unemployed youths above 21 will be given an unemployment allowance of up to Rs 5,000 a month, the manifesto said.

Raje Government Promises to Arrange Farmer Trips to Israel and Other Countries | The Bharatiya Janata Party has also promised expansion of cooperative loans for the agriculture sector, saying loans worth Rs 1 lakh crore will be disbursed in the next five years. If the Raje government returns to power, there will be farmers' visits to Israel and other countries to study best practices, the manifesto stated.  It will pick a district in each division to focus on organic farming. Farming of medicinal plants will also be encouraged.
 

Illegal Migrants Will be Explained, Promises BJP in Rajasthan | The BJP manifesto for the Rajasthan December 7 assembly polls said illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Rohingya Muslims would be identified and expelled, and Hindus who had to leave Pakistan offered citizenship.Unveiled here by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and his cabinet colleagues Prakash Javadekar and Arjun Ram Meghwal, the document called 'Rajasthan Gaurav Sankalp', also mentioned efforts to check cow smuggling in the state.

BJP Manifesto for Rajasthan Released on Tuesday | Earlier, the BJP rolled out its Rajasthan poll manifesto on Tuesday, promising 30,000 new government jobs every year, 50 lakh employment opportunities over the next five years in the private sector and an allowance for the educated jobless. It also held out a possibility to farmers of doubling their income, helped by a new Rs 250-crore fund to encourage rural start-ups.

Congress to Release its Manifesto for Rajasthan Polls | The Congress will release its manifesto today for the Rajasthan Assembly elections which are set to take place on December 7. PCC president Sachin Pilot, former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, chairman of the manifesto committee Harish Chaudhary and other senior leaders of the party will release the manifesto, a party spokesperson said. Menawhile, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi has already promised a loan waiver to the farmers within 10 days of coming to power in the state. 

Campaigning in Telangana’s Kosgi, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi again accuses K Chandrashekar Rao’s TRS of being the ‘B team’ of the BJP. “TRS is not Telangana Rashtra Samiti, it's Telangana Rashtriya Sangh Parivar,” says Gandhi. The Congress leader will later in the day join TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu for election campaigning, the first time that leaders of the two parties will share the stage.

"We are not seeking votes for our grandsons or granddaughters but for your welfare and to help fulfil your dreams," the prime minister said at a rally ahead of elections in the state on December 7. Hitting out at the Congress, he said those whose four generations have had no connect with the public cannot understand the pain of the common people.  "Our only mantra is 'sabka saath, sabka vikas', inspired by social reformist Jyotiba Phule and B R Ambedkar," the prime minister said.

The "kamdar" is in a fight against the "naamdar" in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Nagaur, making a distinction between the one who works and the dynast in a jibe against Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Driving home the difference between himself and the Congress leader, who he has often referred to as 'naamdar' (dynast), he said he was like the people and was not born with a golden spoon.

Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan’s Nagaur, PM Narendra Modi says Congress chief Rahul Gandhi was born with a silver spoon and cannot empathise with the common man. “I am asking you for votes based on my work. I am not seeking votes for the well-being of my family or my family’s future generations,” he says.

Rajasthan and Telangana are among the five states that will go to polls in the ongoing election season. While Chhattisgarh voted in two-phase elections on November 12 and 20, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram are voting today. Rajasthan and Telangana will be the last to vote on December 7. The results, billed as the semi-final to the big battle for Lok Sabha in 2019, will be declared on December 11.

Entering the final phase of the ongoing election season, parties are going all out to woo voters in Rajasthan and Telangana — two battlefields that are wide open and could be anyone’s game. While PM Narendra Modi is hitting the campaign trail in Rajasthan, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu will share the election dais in Telangana’s Khammam.

Polling for Mizoram Assembly Election will begin at 7 am tomorrow and will end at 4pm, except for Bru areas where it ends at 3pm. 11,987 Bru voters will exercise franchise at 15 special polling booths have been set up in Kanhmun of Mamit district. 

Chouhan exuded confidence that his party will win the election with a "comfortable majority". "The difference this time around, compared to the 2008
and 2013 polls is that we drew more crowds, especially the poor, in our public meetings," he said. Asked if demonetisation and GST will adversely affect the BJP in the state polls, Chouhan said they wont "come in way" of the partys victory. The two initiatives will prove to be a boon for the country in the long run, he said.

On the eve of Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls, the longest-serving chief minister of the state is unfazed by talk of anti-incumbency. In an interview to PTI Tuesday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said pro-incumbency and not ant-incumbency, is at play in the central Indian state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and BJP chief Amit Shah were among the leaders who addressed poll rallies in the state, where voting for all the 230 Assembly seats is scheduled Wednesday.

"We are neither dependent on BJP nor Congress," KTR said and said that India will surprise PM Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and said that Modi was non-player in 2012

India has options more than BJP and Congress, said KTR while speaking to CNN News18, asserting the importance of regional parties. He said that national politics is not limited to Congress and BJP.  

KTR also said that the government is spending 1.2 lakh on each student, adding that the government has done revolutionary things for education.  

KTR took a jibe at PM Modi saying that he should spend more time with the common man before making any comment.  He said that the PM should cut down his foreign trips. "PM needs to get off his chopper and meet people," he said.  

TRS leader KT Rama Rao, while speaking to CNN News18, said that agriculture sector showed 6.9% growth in Telangana. He also added that farmer suicide rate has reduced. 

Reaffirming the BJP's commitment to inclusive growth, Modi, addressing his first election rally in the state, said vote bank politics has harmed development like "termites". "The chief minister of Telangana and his family thinks they can get away with doing no work like the Congress.... They have adopted the style of the Congress which ruled for 50-52 years without doing anything. But that cannot happen now," he told an election rally in Nizamabad.

The Rajasthan chief minister said up to Rs 5,000 per month will be given as unemployment allowance to eligible youths above the age of 21 years.
