The Karnataka High Court on Thursday ordered issue of notice to the State government on a petition questioning the appointment of some members to the managing committee of Dharmarayaswamy temple, which organises the famous Bengaluru Karaga.
Justice B. Veerappa passed the order on a petition filed by B.A. Krishnamurthy, a resident of Doddamavalli, who was an aspirant for membership of the committee.
The court also directed the government to produce the original records related to appointment of members to the committee.
It has been alleged in the petition that some members were appointed due to political influence, as they had produced recommendation letters from MLAs.
