Tanwar starts selection process in Hisar

HISAR: Even as the Congress is yet to take a call on fielding aspirants for civic polls on its symbol, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief Ashok Tanwar on Wednesday started the process to select candidates in Hisar.


Sources said 14 aspirants have sought their candidature for the post of mayor in Hisar municipal corporation.


Sources said those who have applied to contest the mayoral polls, include Shakuntala Rajliwala, Arvind Kharinta, Rekha Saini, Bihari Lal Rara, Rahul Tayal, Vijay Kaushik, Vijay Siwatch, Ashwini Sharma, Bir Singh Khaylia, Sushil Kaushik and Dayanand Saini.


Tanwar said a list of candidates for the posts of mayor and councillors would be released soon, so that they could start their campaigns as per the notification issued by the state election commission. Tanwar said every section was unhappy with the BJP government in Haryana and the NDA government at the Centre. tnn
