Flying just got so much easier with a small change that is set to make a big difference.

Qantas have changed their requirements and now passengers no longer need to print their E-Tickets to pass security checks at Australian airports.

When the airline use to issue E-Tickets, they would read: 'Each passenger travelling needs a printed copy of this document for airport security checks.'

According to Escape, the statement at the top of the e-tickets now read: 'We recommend that you carry a printed copy of the e-ticket document or save this on your phone.'

This process means that travellers can just present their E-Ticket and skip check-in queues completely.

While this electronic process could save time, many people still choose to travel to the airport with a printed copy of their ticket - just in case.

Some will argue it's ideal to carry a copy as international security can request to see proof of a return ticket.

Many people stopped carrying any documentation with them years ago, choosing to rely on their phone or self-serve kiosks when arriving to the airport.

In August, airlines began to distribute electronic boarding passes to passengers travelling internationally.

Airlines such as Qantas, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, United Airlines and Singapore Airlines are some that give travellers the opportunity to go completely paperless.

Unfortunately, this opportunity varies depending on which country the passenger is flying into, as some require hard copy boarding passes on arrival.
