One more accused held for Ambala jeweller's murder

AMBALA: The police arrested another main accused in the Ambala jeweller's murder case on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Simranjeet Singh alias Simmy, a resident of Preet Nagar in Samana district of Patiala.
In the initial interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime that he was in contact with Sandeep Kakkar alias Tinku, a resident of Chota Bazaar, Ambala City, who was arrested on November 26.
He said he had planned the crime with the help of his accomplices.
The police are still looking for others involved in the crime and raids at possible locations are being conducted. The police also claim to nab the other accused soon.
Ambala SP Asha Modi said: "The accused Simmy will be presented before the court on Thursday to seek remand for further investigation. Details of others involved in the crime will be gathered."
The police have not recovered any arms used in the crime and nearly five more assailants are still at large.
It is to be noted that Sunil Jain, owner of Piara Lal Rak Kumar Jain Jewellers, was shot dead by nearly six robbers on November 23. Sunil's worker Bharat Bhushan was also injured in the incident.
The accused is Sunil's neighbour, who had conducted a recce of his shop on November 21 and pre-planned the attack on November 23 to commit a robbery.
