Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe and US president Donald Trump will hold first trilateral meet on the sidelines of G20 summit in Argentina. In the backdrop of US-China tensions, the meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss Indo-Pacific policies. PM Modi will also meet Chinese president Xi Jinping. Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale said that there is always scope on the margins of G20 for a meeting between the BRICS head of states and that meeting is confirmed.
