55% polling at Kinavoor bypoll
TNN | Nov 29, 2018, 23:52 ISTTpuram: The bypoll at Kinavoor ward under the city corporation recorded 55% voter turnout on Thursday marking an increase of 2% in polling percentage as compared to the local body elections held in 2015.
The ward had recorded 53% voter turnout in 2015. The low voter turnout has boosted the confidence of LDF which hopes that it has managed to bag all the expected votes.
While UDF maintained that Kinavoor has always sided with UDF and in spite of low voter turnout they would retain the seat, the BJP members said that they have put in all the hard work and that it would pay off. There are a total of 8,002 voters in six booths at Kinavoor.
The bypoll was necessitated following the death UDF councillor K C Vimalkumar. tnn
