AMBALA: In a show of strength, expelled chief of the Indian National Student Organisation (INSO) Digvijay Chautala visited several villages of Ambala along with hundreds of youths following him on tractors, two-wheelers and cars.
Besides visiting Badhouli, Bihta, Durana, Kangwal, Naneola, Jalbehra, Tundli and Babiyal villages in the district, Digvijay went to Naraingarh, Shahzadpur and Barara towns.
Digvijay urged people to attend the Jind rally on December 9 when the new party, to be led by his father Ajay Singh Chautala and elder brother Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala, will be launched.
In Bihta, Digvijay said, “I and Dushyant were expelled from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) nearly two months ago. Senior party leaders alleged that we, in connivance with BJP president Amit Shah and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had conspired to weaken INLD. We asked for proofs against us, but were provided with no reply.”
Citing an example from Mahabharata, Digvijay sought people’s support saying, “Just like Krishna was for Pandavas, you are for Dushyant. We do not need an army of INLD, but we only need your support as Krishna.”
Targeting the BJP, Digvijay said, “The saffron party is spreading its false propaganda in the name of Ram Mandir and cow protection. If you visit BJP leaders’ residences, you will only find black dogs, but no cows. On the other side, Chaudhary Devi Lal is associated with animal husbandry due to his roots. If you visit our workers or leaders, you will find cows at our homes.”
“BJP only plays with the sentiments of the people and it does not have the intention to serve the public,” he added.
Talking about INLD, Digvijay said, “There are two factions in the party now. One is garam dal (extremists) and second is naram dal (moderate). We are ‘naram dal.’ I urge all the workers to come forward to support us.”
Digvijay said, “If the people of Haryana elect us to the assembly, we will firstly waive off the loans of farmers, work on bettering school and higher education and health system, and remove hooliganism and problem of drugs from the society.”
