Forced to frame boyfriend in false rape case, girl lodges FIR against parents, grandparents

(Representative image)AGRA: A 23-year-old girl has lodged an FIR against her parents and grandparents after they allegedly burned her arm and neck with hot tongs, as she refused to give false testimony in court against a youth, who was booked for rape.
The matter was reported on Monday late night in Sirsaganj police station of Firozabad district.
In her FIR, the BSc graduate stated, “For past few days, her parents and grandparents were mentally harassing and pressurizing her to give false statement in court against her friend who was allegedly booked under IPC section 376 (rape). But when refused, on Sunday evening, her parents burned her right arm and neck with hot tongs and rained lashes.”
“The victim somehow managed to escape from home and contacted her uncle on Monday, after which she was brought to police station. Based on her written complaint, her parents and grandparents were booked under IPC section 323 (punishment for causing grievous hurt) and 307 (attempt to murder), though they are currently at large after the incident,” said station house officer of Sirasganj, Dinesh Kumar.
Officer Kumar said, “Few weeks back, the girl’s parents had approached court to lodge an FIR of rape against her friend. During the court proceeding, the girl was asked to appear in court and give her testimony. In her statement to police, the girl expressed her fear that her parents will murder her if she did not give a statement against her boyfriend.”
“After the medical examination, the girl went with her uncle to stay at his home. Meanwhile, our police team is searching for the accused and soon they would be arrested,” added SHO Sirsaganj.
