Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Richard Clarida said Tuesday the central bank would keep raising short-term interest rates gradually, a hint that another rate increase is coming in December.
While Mr. Clarida didn’t specifically address the Fed’s rate plans, he noted subdued inflation measures, which could give the Fed room to slow or pause its pace of quarterly rate increases next year.
